Travel Information
If you are checking flights to attend this event and would like to take the transportation included in the trip price, you will need to arrive at Mexico City Airport (MEX) before 3:00 PM on MAY 21, and your departure flight should be after 2:00 PM on MAY 25.
We highly encourage you to get travel insurance for your flight ticket. “Cancel For Any Reason” (CFAR) coverage is usually an add-on feature to a trip insurance policy.
Our journey together begins in Mexico City, Mexico. You are responsible for your transportation to and from the Benito Juarez Mexico City airport (MEX). Once you arrive and pass through immigration and customs, we take care of getting you where you need to be!
From USA- Many airlines have direct flights from Los Angeles, Houston, and New York to Mexico City, including AeroMexico, Alaska, Volaris, Horizon, Delta, and United.
More options are available if connecting through another U.S. city.
From Europe- Most commercial airlines link Mexico directly to Europe. It is always worth comparing flight offers from air carriers who can bring you to Mexico City or Cancun via many European hubs, like Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, and Madrid…..the flight duration from those cities is always approx. 11 hours (+ your connecting flight from home, if you do not board directly at the mentioned airports)
From Australia or New Zealand- Fly from either Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, or Auckland(NZ) direct to Los Angeles. Delta, Qantas, United, and V Australia offer non-stop air service from Australia to Los Angeles. Air New Zealand offers one-stop air service from Australia and non-stop air service from Auckland to Los Angeles. Hawaiian Airlines and Air Tahiti Nui offer one- or two-stop air service to Los Angeles from Australia and New Zealand.
For your departure, airlines request to do the check-in 3hrs before the departure of international flights,
and it takes one hour to get from the hotel to the airport during regular business hours. We ask you to schedule your flight back home after 2 PM, so we can leave the hotel at approx. 10 AM.
Arriving Early / Departing Later
If you plan to spend extra nights at the hotel in Teotihuacan before or after the trip, you can email us at: karla@miguelruiz.com
If you cannot schedule your flight arrival and departure to meet the group transportation schedule, you can arrange your ride between the airport and the hotel. The cost is aprox. $70 US depending on when you need the ride or party size.
If you are arriving/departing on a different day, or you don’t want to wait for the group transportation provided, you can contact the hotel directly to schedule a taxi to pick you up at the airport:
Vicky Benitez: vickybenit@outlook.com
Mobile/WhatsApp: +52-1-55-4822-6946
Hours: 9am-6pm CT
Money
We highly recommend you exchange money at the airport. Changing money from dollars/euros to pesos while waiting for the group is a good idea. There are several exchange kiosks in the airport outside customs, or you can withdraw pesos from the ATM.
You’ll need money to buy souvenirs, or gifts you’d like ti bring home.
Please note that after breakfast, we go out for the day and often do not return to eat until after 2:00 PM. If you need to eat before then, bring power bars, nuts, trail mix, or whatever you need to take care of your body!
Also, purchasing water every day is necessary since Mexico’s water is not drinkable. You can bring a reusable water bottle and refill it at the hotel. Water can also be bought at the hotel or in a mini-mart around the corner from the hotel.
The exchange rate is 1USD= 20 pesos (January 2025)
General Information
Be on time! Please respect the times set – they will be posted daily outside our meeting room.
• Remember one dollar is about equal to 17 pesos. (check for current exchange rate)
• Anything purchased at the hotel can be paid for in cash.
• All bills must be cleared no later than 5 pm the day before our departure. Please honor this request as not doing so might cause delays for you and your fellow travelers.
• There is Wi-Fi in designated areas.
• There is an Aurrera (supermarket) in San Juan. We can arrange for a taxi if you need to purchase anything you may have forgotten, or just to visit San Juan for a taste of a Mexican town.
• The village of San Sebastian is within walking distance from the hotel.
• Close to the hotel is a restaurant called Mitote which serves authentic Mexica food.
• There are several restaurants around the grounds and places to buy snacks and water.
Valuables
• Be sure to keep the immigration card that you received on arrival. You will need to give this card to the airline when you leave. You will be delayed and charged money if you lose it, as a new one will have to be issued.
• You can leave your valuables in your room. Only bring the money you need for the day.
Safety and Health
• Please do not walk outside the hotel or take a taxi alone – pair up.
• Please do not drink tap water. We also recommend brushing your teeth with bottled water.
• Purified water is available at the hotel, so you can bring your water bottle and fill it up. Mini-markets are also within walking distance.
• A small bottle is provided daily, free of charge.
• Most of all—use your common sense.
Vaccines and Medications
As each person’s body has different needs, we recommend that you consult with your doctor or health care practitioner regarding medications and vaccinations.
Altitude
Teotihuacan elevation is 7,500 feet. Please consult with your doctor if you have any heart conditions that might be affected by elevation. We recommend bringing extra medication in case needed.
Tips on Tipping
• Please tip for maid service. You can leave money daily in the room or at the end when you leave.
• Please tip the luggage handlers.
• For luggage handlers and maids, fifty pesos ($2.50) is adequate (this is per day for the maids).
• We recommend tipping cash at restaurants.
Packing or ‘Please, Don’t Forget Me’ List
We are delighted that you are joining us for the upcoming excursion. We ask you to carefully read the following information to ensure that your experience is as physically comfortable and spiritually rewarding as possible.
Each Journey invariably includes two itineraries. On the physical part of the journey, we each travel as a member of a group to places of extraordinary beauty, power and enchantment. On the inner journey, we travel solo down a long winding road often rife with potholes, detours and rivers to cross with no bridge in sight. The inner journey requires that we bring along all our love and courage to honestly deal with ourselves to separate truth from illusion.
The inner journey is potentially the hardest one we ever make. For the physical journey we just need a sense of humor, flexibility and a properly packed bag containing all the things a physical body could need!

Suggested Reading
To help you prepare for this retreat and have a better understanding of the teachings of the Ruiz family, we recommend reading the following books:
-Beyond Fear. This book explains some terminologies the Ruiz Family uses on the Teotihuacan retreats. It will give you a better understanding of the process you will experience.
-The Fifth Agreement. The core of all the teachings of the Ruiz Family.
-The Mastery of Life. Great explanation of how the sacred pyramids and plazas of Teotihuacan act as symbolic stops on the transformative path of Toltec Warriors.
Daily Itinerary
If you notice, we never publish a detailed program schedule for any event. The reason is that our trip leaders teach from Spirit as it guides them, and that is constantly changing! Depending on the group’s energy, the program may shift in any direction. Please trust that magic will happen at every event and put your “voice of knowledge” and “need to know” at rest.
Be assured that we have an incredible journey planned for you.

I showed up afraid (terrified) and left empowered and at peace. Every single person there played a role, from Ruiz team and family to the attendees. The sharing from attendees was icing on top of the teachings and sacred grounds of TEO. Thank you x infinity <3
In one word, transformative. The experience brought to life the teachings in the Ruiz family books and deepened my understanding of the pricinciples. It was practical application for the spirit. The environment was safe and open. I will forever carry the teachings, emotions and memories with me and allow them to change the world, by focusing on changing myself and showing up as the best version of me, wherever I go.
Oh my gosh! What a beautiful experience? With thanks, I now am living each day as a holiday, spoiling myself, and in fuller love with the all. I am very happy for this experience and send love, love, love. I am love!
