Faith: The Center an essay by don Jose Luis

Faith is one of the most beautiful expressions of gratitude we can offer to life, for our life. Faith in one's self is a pathway to manifest love wherever we journey. If you put all of your confidence and trust in your love - that love manifests in everything you touch. The stronger your faith in your choices, the more powerful your intent becomes in bringing that point of creation from the unmanifest to the manifest.

Faith came to me in a very interesting way. At first when I was young, it didn't mean anything to me. Faith was something that people talked about in church, in school and in ceremonies of the Indian tradition. Later, when I ventured out into life, I knew the concept of faith as I learned it from others. While faith always lived inside me, I only knew the false face of faith.

As I grew older, I experienced heartbreaks in my life, experiences of personal hell. I felt abandoned by faith. The false faith I had gave no relief. The false faith I believed disappeared when I doubted myself. My authentic faith was nowhere to be found - it was buried in me. Little by little, I discovered that I had to lose my knowledge of faith in order to let go of the false faith. I had to pass through my circumstances and experiences in order to find authentic faith. I found pure faith that I had in myself, not the blind faith that I learned.

I discovered something magical; the more faith I have in myself, the faster things manifest. Faith is a whole source, like a fountain pouring fresh water. Faith is in the center of one's self and cannot be lost once discovered. When you find your authentic faith, you know that the Mitote is happening all of the time but that faith keeps your feet on the ground. You realize that everything that happens is just a message delivered by the Dream of the planet.

When my Father was in coma after his heart attack in 2002, I witnessed a powerful being full of pure faith. It was my Grandmother - Sarita. During the nine weeks my Father lay in a coma, Sarita woke up and made breakfast for the whole family. After making breakfast, she took care of her little body then went to her altar and started praying. She prayed non-stop nearly twenty four hours a day, every day. She prayed that her son would return to life and her faith in his return was unshakeable.

The night before my Father awoke from the coma; my Grandmother did a very powerful ceremony. Sarita is a ninety-five year old curandera from rural Mexico so all her faith lies in God, in angels, and the dream of crystals. That night, my Grandmother got every body in the house in one room, grabbed them and said, "Think of Miguel. Just think how beautiful he is. Just think of the impact he made on your life. Surrender in bliss but with authority."

My uncles, friends of my uncles, my Mother and everyone there had their hands in prayer for about three hours. With force, Sarita spoke prayers. Immediately the room was filled and that life - that ninety two year old body - was shaking. You could feel the presence, bigger than her body, in the room. She called all the ancestors using all that faith. In one moment, she stopped what she was doing and said, "It's done. Take me to the kitchen." The next morning, we received the most beautiful news saying that don Miguel had awoken.

My Grandmother demonstrated complete, pure faith in that ceremony and in her life. I witnessed her faith but I had to take a journey through my experiences to find my faith. Now, I anchor myself in faith, just like an anchor on a boat. Wherever I put my faith, I pour my intent.
